The Food Safety Modernization Act

The Food Safety Modernization Act, passed into law in 2011 dramatically changed and upgraded the way we work on food safety.  A "responsive" program was replaced with a "preventive program," with seven major pillars supported with individual rules developed by the FDA.

There are seven major rules developed from the Food Safety Modernization act.  The FDA has partnered with FSPCA to create the standardized training which is recognized by the FDA to be in compliance with the rule.

Preventive Controls for Human Foods September 2015
Preventive Controls for Animal Foods September 2015
Standards for Produce Safety November 2015
Foreign Supplier Verification November 2015
Accreditation of Third Party Certification November 2015
Sanitary Transportation of Human and Animal Food April 2016
Mitigation Strategies to Protect Food Against Intentional Adulteration May 2016
